Pan Am was the first US airline flying the Airbus A310. The aircraft often visited Frankfurt, where Pan Am operated a busy hub. The aircraft on the picture is named 'Clipper Frankfurt'.

Pan Am operated a total of 21 Airbus A310 aircraft between 1985 and 1991, when the aircraft were transferred to Delta Air Lines. Most ex-Pan Am A310s are now in service with Federal Express as freighters.
