One of the most remarkable colour schemes on Airbus A340s was that on the aircraft of BWIA West Indies, the former airline of Trinidad and Tobago. BWIA was founded in 1940, but suspended operations in late 2006.

The airline flew two A340-300s, which replaced similarly painted Lockheed L-1011 TriStars on flights to London Heathrow. The first of the A340-300s was delivered in 2002.
