SriLankan is the national airline of Sri Lanka and was formerly known als Air Lanka. The current name was adopted in 1999 after privatisation and after Emirates acquired a 40 per cent minority stake in the airline.

Air Lanka once flew widebodies like the Lockheed TriStar and for a short time the Boeing 747. Today's SriLankan operates Airbus A330-200 and A340-300 aircraft. The aircraft on the picture is an A340-300 approaching London Heathrow.
